How to Take a Screenshot on iOS
How to Take a Screenshot using the Home Button
Older iPhone models, from the Series 4 till the 8 Plus all come with Home buttons which you can use to take a screenshot on your iPhone.
To take a screenshot using the Home button, if you have one of these iPhone models, then follow these steps

- Open the app you want to take a screenshot of
- Press the power button on the right side of the phone and then the Home button at the same time
The screen will flash and you will be able to see a floating icon in the bottom left corner of your display.
You can edit the screenshot by tapping on it or you can leave the icon be and it will disappear on its own.
You can then find the screenshot in the Photos app on your iPhone if you want to edit or share the file with anyone.
How to Take a Screenshot without the Home Button
For those with the new models of iPhone, you can take a screenshot using Face ID instead of the Touch ID button. You can do this on iPhone models that do not have a physical Home button or Menu button.
To take a screenshot of your iPhone without a Home Button, follow these steps

- Open the app you want to take a screenshot of
- Press the power button on the right side of the iPhone and the volume up button at the same time.

How to Take a Screenshot using AssistiveTouch
Since most iPhone users find the button combinations a bit tricky to use, you can use an easier method by enabling the Assistive Touch feature on your iPhone.
The AssistiveTouch option lets you create custom commands for different gesture actions.
For example, you can set either Single-tap, double tap, long press or 3D touch to take a screenshot on your iPhone. But in order to get access to this feature, you must enable Assistive Touch from your Settings app.

- Launch the Settings app on your iPhone and then navigate to Accessibility
- Tap on the option labeled Touch and then click on AssistiveTouch
- You can enable this feature by tapping the toggle switch at the top of the page
- Now that you have enabled AssistiveTouch, you can go ahead and choose the custom action you want.
- Tap on the option labeled Double Tap and then choose Screenshots from the list of commands
- Now, every time you double tap on a particular page, iOS will automatically capture the screen and the file will be saved in the Photos app.

To view your screenshots on your iPhone is quite simple, just open the Photos app on the iPhone and select the Screenshots folder.

The thumbnail icon will stay on the display for 5-6 seconds before disappearing. You can either ignore the thumbnail or swipe it with your finger to close it on your iOS device.
